In the midst of reading “How To Be Parisian”, I can’t help but to have tunnel vision. The classic, yet eclectic French design never goes out of style.
Good bones
Talk about getting a head start. These structures are already so beautiful: white wall paneling, ceiling and wall moldings, ornate fireplaces, chevron/parquet wood floors, light-filled windows, and french doors.
Old & New
It’s all about balance. Nothing turns the charm on more than mixing old and new items.
Go bold
Use moody colors and artwork – but, keep things minimal. Parisian homes are known for white walls, wood, marble, neutral decor and any use of color makes a statement. Make it artistic. You’ll tend to find most color used will be in furniture form, like a funky chair, or trendy sofa. Abstract artwork will do the trick.
Romantic
Paris is the city of love. If you aren’t into bold and moody, then blush tones is the answer for color. How dreamy is this day bed?
