It’s the most wonderful time of the year! No, seriously, I live for Christmas time and December is my favorite (biased considering its my birth month). I am one of those people who watches Christmas movies the week of Halloween – not sorry! I’ve always loved decorating for Christmas. Growing up, our Christmas decorations were an annual tradition. We unpacked boxes and knew exactly which room each piece was to be placed in – each decoration special in its own way. Thats why I love Christmas decorations; they have meaning and memories behind them.
Now, Ryan and I having our own space to decorate, we are starting to collect a lot of special pieces. We spend most of our time in the living room, so I wanted this room to feel extra festive. I’m hoping there’s a buffet table on Santa’s sleigh to add to the other side of the mantle! *cough, cough*
Shimmers of silver and gold on the built-ins! You know I love my metallics. The deer hangs here year-round, but with the wreath, he’s holiday.
I was so excited to find these initials for our stockings! They are actually gift toppers from Sugar Paper at Target, but I had a different vision for them. Cruz’s stocking on the other side of the mantle even has a C.
Giving some major winter wonderland vibes. White wreath on the mirror, frosted branch and berries in the vase, plaid pillow, and a little faux fur. All we need is a little snow outside the windows!
Continuing the metallic details throughout the tree. My favorite idea for decorating the tree is to add sticks, like these silver, gold, and white bulb branches, to give the tree more dimension.
The dining room is focused on natural elements: wood, white birch, and greenery. I’m going to do a post later this week on a complete tablescape featuring white birch so stay tuned!
How sweet is this gingerbread tree?! It pairs perfectly with the mixer. Throughout the kitchen, I simply use candy jars, gingerbread, and baking utensils as decor – easy as that!
There’s so much character in our home, like this window for example, where it looks so pretty to add wintry details.
Look forward to more Holiday posts to come!
